Strawberry beignets

Treat the whole family with these strawberry jam beignets. Perfect for dessert or coffee.

  Ingredients

1.  In a food processor, add 400 g of flour with the eggs, sugar and salt. Dissolve yeast in 10 cl warm milk. Heat the remaining milk and let it melt butter. Add all in the mixer bowl, with the remaining 100 g of flour. Pulse for 5 minutes. Shape into a ball and let rise for 1 hour 30 minutes.

2. When the dough has doubled in size, roll it out on a floured surface to 1 cm thick. Cut out 24 circles with a cookie cutter. Place 1 teaspoon of jam on half circles.

3. Moisten the edges with water. Top with the other halves and press fingertips to seal. Place on a lightly floured dish. Allow to rise for another 1 hour.

4. Heat the frying oil. Dip the beignets, turning once, until they are golden brown. Drain on paper towel . Sprinkle with sugar before serving.
