Italian chocolate ice cream
Make your very own gelato in your kitchen with Gourmand Asia’s Italian chocolate gelato recipe. Perfect for a hot day.
1. In a saucepan over very low heat, warm the milk, heavy cream and the chopped chocolates. Stir until smooth.
2. In a second saucepan, place the yolks and the sugar and beat with a spatula until it is white and foamy.
3. Pour slowly the chocolate milk cream batter over the egg mixture until it forms a thick cream. Stop when it starts to simmer.
4. Leave the mixture to cool, then place in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
5. Once the cream mixture is cold, pour into a chilled container and place inside the freezer with a frost indicator.
6. When the ice cream is ready, pour into an airtight receptacle. Leave it in the freezer.
7. Serve the chocolate gelato in a bowl or in a cone.
