Apple baklava
Baklava is a sweet dessert! In this recipe, it is associated with apples, pistachios and hazelnuts.
1. Set aside 75 g of butter. Melt the rest and leave to cool. Peel the apples and cut into quarters, remove the core and seeds. Chop the quarters. Blend coarsely the dried nuts and pour into a bowl. Add the rosewater, cinnamon, sugar and melted butter. Mix well.
2. Melt the remaining butter. Brush the phyllo pastry with it. Preheat the oven at 220°C (th. 7/8). Buttered a large rectangular mould with high borders. Fill the bottom with half of the phyllo sheets.
3. Pour the dried nut mixture and spread evenly. Add a layer of apples. Cover with the remaining phyllo pastry.
4. Cut the phyllo into triangles with a sharp knife. Cover with aluminium foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the baklava from the oven and remove the aluminium foil. Cover with honey and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
5. Leave to cool and serve.
