Sausage Dinner Mains

Thought you could only get great sausages in Germany? Think again.  While we might be thousands of miles away from Europe – there is no shortage of yummy and premium varieties in Singapore – thanks to the Pan Pacific’s in-house butchery.

True to German Master Butchers traditions, and for almost 30 years, Pan Pacific Singapore has been offering authentic and premium home-made sausages and hams – hence meat lovers has a reason to rejoice.

Following German artisans’ recipes, the 5-star hotel’s in-house butchery is now known for its handcrafted sausages, where only premium selected meats and natural spices are used, making them some of – if not – the best in town.

As sausage lovers ourselves here at Gourmand Asia, we were delighted with the variety on offer – opening up the possibilities for cooking some our favourite recipes. Among the selection is the classic Veal Bratwurst, made from premium pork and veal with herbs and original Swiss spice blends.

As for hams, they are made daily from Australian pork legs and American turkey breast – within which the Peppercorn Ham is highly recommended. Crafted from a prime cut of the pork leg, the meat is then baked and coated with a layer of peppercorn.

Fancy a home-made spicy salami pizza? The salami on offer here is naturally fermented using a traditional process and can take up to 6 weeks to make. You can also try it cold smoked to reveal its authentic and aromatic qualities. We recommend the Hungarian salami, with paprika spice and a hint of garlic which is a must-try.

How to eat them?

Sausages are generally consumed hot but can also be served cold as an appetizer You can experiment with several ways to cook them such as blanching in water, charcoal grilling, pan-frying or even cook them using a microwave oven. The sausage will have different flavours according to the way you cook it.

As for cold cuts, salamis and hams, the possibilities are endless: on a platter, in salads, sandwiches, pizza toppings, etc…

So if you’ve been recently craving some meaty delights, you know now where to get them from or follow Executive chef Vincent Aw’s recipe. Guten appetit!

All products are available at Pan Pacific’s in-house butchery. Sausage prices start at SGD5.35, while ham and cold cuts from SGD8.00.
