1. Peel the onion and prick it with the cloves. Separate cabbage leaves from each other and blanch for 5 minutes in boiling water. Drain and set aside. Peel the carrots and cut into slices.

2. Heat the oil in a large pot. Brown the pork on all sides. When it is well colored, pour 1 liter of water into the pot. Add the cabbage, carrots, onion with the cloves, bay leaves, peppercorns and coarse salt. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and cook for 2 hours.

3. Serve immediately.
