1. Peel and finely chop the onions. Chop 6 sage leaves. Put in a bowl with the ground meat and eggs. Add salt and pepper and mix with your hands. Shape into small balls and roll in flour.

2.  Heat the oil in a frying pan and brown the meatballs on all sides. Salt and pepper.

3. Dip the tomatoes for 1 minute in boiling salted water, then drain. Garnish with sage leaves. Add fresh ground pepper. Serve with polenta or rice.
