Apple pie with walnuts

Try your hand at this easy apple pie recipe with crunchy walnuts.

1. Prepare the shortcrust pastry dough. Pour the flour in a bowl with the sugar and a pinch of salt. Make a hole in the centre of the flour and put the butter in pieces and the whole egg. Work the dough with your fingers until your get a smooth texture. Form a ball and let it rest in the fridge for 1 hour.

2. Preheat the oven at 210°C th. 7. Grease with butter 6 tartelette moulds. Flour the work surface and cut 12 discs the size of the moulds. Place 6 discs at the base of the moulds and prick with a fork.

3. Peel the apples, remove the core and seeds. Cut into small cubes.

4. Melt butter in a pan and fry the apples for 5 minutes. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook for 5 minutes.

5. Divide the apples in the moulds and add the walnut kernels. Cover the moulds with the remaing 6 dough discs. Seal by hemming the sides.

6. Cut a steam vent on the centre of the pie . Bake for 20 minutes until the dough turns golden brown. Serve the apple pie immediately.
