SAVOUR

If you’re a self-confessed food connoisseur then there’s one culinary festival that you should not be leaving out of your calendar – at any cost.

From March 26 – 29, the popular and one-of-a-kind food festival, Savour, will be taking Singapore on quite the savoury (pun intended) culinary journey. By transforming the F1 Pit Building to a gourmet playground for 4 days, the event will bring together world-renowned chefs, wine and sake experts for tasting, demos, cooking and spirit classes.

As always, you’ll be treated to leading culinary pros from the local industry such as André Chiang, Bjorn Shen, Christopher Millar, Han Liguang, Jason Tan, Ryan Clift and not to forget, the big guns like Daniel Clifford (2 Michelin stars) from Midsummer House in United Kingdom and Alvin Leung (3 Michelin stars) from Hong Kong will be present as well.

Now before you head down, let’s open up our menus and locate the best stalls – ranging from fine-dining, hearty and market food – to sneak in a bite, or two, at.

Among the new participants this year, our first stop, hailing all the way from Tasmania, would be Garagistes by chef Luke Burgess. We will then move to Kiin Kiin by chef Henrik Yde, the only Thai restaurant in the world to boast of a Michelin Star!

Thereafter, for their fine-dining menu, creativity and generosity, we’ll make our way to Saint Pierre restaurant, led by chef Emmanuel Stroobant, who is the unique member of Relais & Châteaux in Singapore. And finally, our love for Middle-Eastern food will see us pulling up a seat at Artichoke. Yum!

Besides being able to get our tastebuds tickled at all the tastings, we’re fans of Savour as it allows a large audience to place one foot inside the kitchens of these acclaimed chefs and experts.

For instance you could attend any of their masterclasses, or get your hands busy in the cooking studio. We are also very much tempted by the Sake Appreciation class which will present certifications upon succcessful completion. While all of the workshops are complimentary, be sure to arrive early as it goes on a first-come-first-served basis.

Alas, finish the savoury experience with a visit to Jason’s market and enjoy the oyster bar that will feature 20 different kinds from 8 countries or for the cheese lovers, take a tour in the cheese room, and pair your selection with a great bottle of wine.

With such an exciting programme ahead, get your tickets and prep your stomachs for the grand opening! We’re pretty sure you’ll be having a pretty huge food baby by the end of it all too.
